5 days in Paris.

With the economy downturn and the swine flu epidemic, it is not safe to travel at the moment. Although, some people I know who just came back from the US, did raved about how we tend to blow this matter out of portion. People over the States didn't walked around in masks like we are over here. But, then again, we better be safe than sorry, aite? So, what a girl to do with insufficient funds and fever from piggies than lead people to a nervous breakdown more than it can kill them? -The girl could dream/plan for her next stop to Paris!

Fortunately, I've been to the City of Lights once before. It was a gift from my dad as part of his 'graduation' gift to me. Sayang my dad for that! Unfortunately, I only got 4 full days in Paris, and plus other 2 days that counts me abroad in the skies with the flying peanuts. So, my plan is to have 5 full days in Paris.

Day One.
Upon arriving at Charles de Gaulle airport, I will get my necessities; purchasing the train pass and the museum pass. See, the train system is just like ours, so its not that hard (except the destination are all in French) to determined which stops to take and which line to follow. Once you know where to go and which stops to get off to, you're safe.

Firstly, of course, time to refresh yourself. That means a quick nap will do to reenergize myself. This time, I would preferably much to stay in a hotel near to Eiffel Tower, a place like Paris Eiffel Cambronne, where you can walk in minutes to Eiffel Tower. After taking a much deserving shower, I will go down to the supermarket; like my mother, I love-love-love exploring local supermarkets or hypermarkets wherever I go. Over there, I need to get a few supplies, like mineral bottles, Coke, and bread. Then, make a quick stop at the bakery on the way back to buy some warm toasty baguettes and choquettes. Went back to hotel, and refuel.

Done with lunch, I will then visit the Eiffel Tower. Admire the structure and the surroundings while I'm under it. So majestic! Then, climbed up to the higest peak, and admire Paris itself. Next, an afternoon tea/espresso/coffee at the Eiffel Tower Cafe'. Take the time to immersed myself to the obvious knowledge that I AM IN FREAKING PARIS!

After an hour or two at the tower, its time to to venture out to Arc de Triomphe. Here, you have to climb up what seemed to be an endless flight of stairs. They even have a small corner for you to rest. The stairs will take a lot of energy from you. While on top, admire the artifacts, then the finale, basked in the lovely view of Paris in another angle. I will take my time on the top just admiring the view, because later I will have to climb down the freaking stairs again.

After Arc de Triomphe, I will head back to the hotel, but not just yet. It's important to know your surroundings at the place you stay in. To note if there is a nearby hospital, pharmacy, banks, cafe's, supermarkets and Metro Station. After walking around the neighbourhood, its time to call it a day.

Day Two

I'm gonna wake up freaking early because I will be excited for the next destination: Musee de Louvre. I dedicate the whole day to only one venue!

More than 35, 000 artworks with thematic and crossed departments, any art freak or just simply people with impeccable taste WILL enjoy this. Trust me, just walking around, climbing the HUGE staircase, have a bite at the cafe and admiring the artworks and artifacts, is enough for the day.

Day Three
Visiting Musee Rodin. I love old mansions, like the ones from 19th or 18th century with the huge landscape garden. So, I definitely love Musee Rodin because the museum itself was the artist's old residence. A few of his beloved scuptures were spread out on the mansion's compound.

Next, I'll visit Musee D'orsay. Just to see Van Gogh's, Munch's, and Monet's. The place is equally spectacular!

Day Four
Shopping at La Vallee Outlet Shopping Village. Since, this is a long journey by train, take the advantage to enjoy the scenary.

La Vallee is a best-buy factory outlets mall in the east of Paris. Offering 70 prestigious and luxury brands with reduce pries. I would go gaga for these brands.

In my shopping list includes: A Salvatore Ferragamo classic ribbon flats in black, Burberry handbag, and a red Furla long French purse.

Check out the official site for this: http://www.lavalleevillage.com/fr_FR/?lan=en

Day Five
Strolling and maybe some window shopping at streets of Champ de Elysee. Maybe I should save my money to buy a Chanel 2.55 Jumbo bag or a Louis V., maybe? Just to feel the thrill to shop there instead of purchasing it over at KLCC or Pavillion. Plus, I might get my hands on some limited e's from these Parisian fashion houses. Or just finished my couple 100 Euros at Sephora will do.

Champ de Elysee is a great place for celebrity spotting. I know because while I was there, Justin Timberlake was shopping in Paris too.

After a tiring day of shopping maybe I'll stop by one of those cafe' that sprout like wild mushrooms at every way you turn. They are like local kopitiam just with over priced coffees and breakfasts, AND better looking people to stare at. A good space for people watching. A must do in Paris!

Well, that's that. That's all I can think of in my next 'dream' trip to Paris.

Just make sure you'll dress appropriately and chic as possible. Good looking guys, I mean REALLY good looking guys that looks like they came off from a Vogue photo shoot just roaming around from the moment you land in Paris. They are on superbikes wearing suits and mufflers a'la Jude Law in Alfie, on the train with long soft dirty blonde hair and reading glasses reading a book (I'm just decribing the hotties that I saw!),and at the museums -just plain hot. Totally hands down! the most best looking peeps I ever laid my eyes on (in person). So, u might want to look your best when meeting a hot French dude, aite?

Au revoir!

But, the sucky part is, he can't control it, so imagine he's married Rachel McAdams in the process which he met when she was a little girl, but then throughout the movie he keep vanishing off to another time. Leaving his wife alone. Now, that's the drama for u. It's a bittersweet love story. Sure to watch it.

P.s: I tried to read the book once, and for a time travel book, it's a slow read. Looks like the movie is far more interesting.

Try this: B.Wings

From the moment I got their flyer at the mail, I knew I had to try it. My family is a sucker for anything chicken wings...especially Buffalo wings. It reminds us the chicks wings we ate at Las Vegas. Super yummy. So, without wasting time, I gave them a call to deliver the yummers straight to my door step.

Fyi, they have 6 different flavors to choose from. My pick would be the barbeque and the hot sauce. Superb. The price range are from RM21 (20 pcs) to RM50. They even have value meals that all cost below RM10. And, they don't charge for the delivery. They have set family meals, that are quite pricey: cost around RM41 for a 20 pcs chicks + vegetables + 2 cupcakes + a big bottle of Coke.

So, have a go the next time you visit SS15, Subang Jaya.

Job Interview One: Chapter One

I love the serendipity to this very first experience...how it is my first real job interview, and the company that potentially hiring me is called 'Chapter One'. I never had anyone interviewed me for a job before, I was fortunate enough to have my former employers to trust me to take me under their wings JUST by looking through my resumes. The only professional interview I had was when I wanted to get in the freaking school.

Honestly, I never heard of the company before until my cousin emailed me in Facebook asking me to check it out. My cousin was super nice to look after me - thanks for your kind gesture! Any-who! This particular company is the leading co for image consultant in Malaysia - and we never heard of it before! Somehow, I'm sure you all have seen them before in newspapers and magazines. Just that we didn't pay much attention.

You can tell it's a niche company by the location of the HQ and the office itself. It's pretty decent for starters. But I have to say I've work at better places before. Suddenly, I miss Bates141 and ACP Magazine because they are near to Starbucks Coffee. Hehe. Just a 5 minutes walk.

After I scout the place a day before the interview, just to get the hang of things, I was dumbfounded by the location - it is next to a automobile workshop. Besides that, the area have massive traffic jams. That's double frown. Well, that's down, the very day I left home around 9:15am from home as I thought my interview is at 10am-11am! I manage to find a very lucrative parking spot behind the shop lots, and I have the aircond water dripping at the side of my car from the neighboring shops...definitely cramming my style. As taking my long walk - (my car is at the other end of shop lots and the office is at the other), my mobile phone buzz - a text message from the company reminding me I have an interview with them , I thought how sweet!! ...then as I read on...it states...the interview schelduled at 11am!! And, I was there at 9:40am already! This makes up to 3 frowns.

Frantic and a little amused, I texted back stating that I am already there. No replies as I walked up the office. So, I buzz the door, and the person who was texting me opened the door. She asked me why am I so early...I replied with my assumption and certainty that the person who called me yesterday morning said 10am to 11am. And, she was like..'Oh, is it?'
I greeted the 2 ladies that seemed to be the only 2 people there- with a smile. They make me sat at this square sofa with black and white geometry prints on it which is in front of my interviewer's office. As I waited I browse an old copy of Cleo magazine and pretending to read I can't even concertrate while they were talking.

After what seemed like a 3 minutes break, my interviewer called me. My first impression, what a very pleasant dude! My first question was.."tell me about yourself?"...after short introduction, he seemed not pleased, he wanted more info...and played coy and asked, what else he needed to know..he replied.."What do you think I need to know?"...then, I start to babble again on my professional experiences. Talked about my family, my work experiences, my weakness and strengths, my dreams and goals...and at the end he analyzed me by saying that I am 'unstable' and a sort of 'Jack of all Traders'...he gave me an advice...which a damn good one- to sort my priorities. He said that he is impressed with me and my communication skills as compared to other candidates he interviewed before. Then, he said, its my turn to ask questions...so I babbled away all my uncertainties about the company and the job. He was babbling away and I was nodding away. We ended the conversation with a smile...he has nice wrinkles on his face. *Apa lar, Nad ni!!* Four frowns.

All in all, he said he will go through my application with the other lady in charge, and he said I would probably need to see the lady too later on. So, from there, we bid our 'auf wiedersehen'. Proximity of interview length: 30 minutes.

Good luck to all my mates who are hunting for jobs now!

I WANT IT: Chanel 2.55 Bag

Yes, u saw tons of celebrities parading this bag around town. And, yes it kinda influences me to own one. But one celebrity that really planted the idea into me, her name is Lauren Conrad. What's not to love about it? Its timeless! Sturdy design (I'm referring to the structure). And, its quilted and practical! I want it so bad and in a biggest size. This 'it' bag alone, is my fuel to my tiny-itty-bitty flame to find work ASAP so I could save up to finally own one!

Damn u Lauren Conrad!

Do it for the money or love or glory?

My final exam results are not out yet, but I've already looking for jobs. Is that the right to do? Should I wait and be patient. Chill and enjoy the freedom (and boredom) while it last? I'm not the kind of person who favors just sit and watch. I hate waiting. Period! But this so-called relaxing honeymoon 'pre-post grad' act is getting old. And, I know I'm a bump, just by looking the size of my ever expanding thighs. Since I hate routines, I've accommodate myself with daily non-frantic activities. Reading, playing video games, going online looking for jobs and super hilarious news, updating my blog and running errands. Besides that, I always find excuses to go out, mainly for drinks with friends or just running around the shopping mall aimlessly.

I want to go for a quick vacay but this is not the right time to do. School holiday sucks! (for now). They are only good for lesser traffic jams during rush hour which is a gem for those who are employed!

Talking about employment, I have scared myself with the scarious question of all: "What if...?"
  1. What if I took a job at......? Is it the right career path?
  2. Do I have the charisma and talent to go ahead?
  3. What if the place is far, and I have to drive, that means I have to battle in the jams every other day to work? That means I'm prone to traffic accidents and besides that my car will be in danger - Scully alone at the parking lot!
  4. What if I get bored?
  5. What if the colleagues are not compatible with me?
  6. What if the environment is decieving?
  7. What if my car makes problems while I'm at work/after work?
  8. What if I have to work late and all alone? (don't really mind that!)
  9. What if I have to drive a lot to get where I needed to be?
  10. Should I do it for the money? Love? Or glory?
Those are the questions running in my head. But ultimately, there are answers to every question. Now that I've typed it and read it outloud, I realize that's the joy to life. You will never know what will happen, you hope and try as u might to make it right, but in the end life will take it's course. So, chill out and have fun while you're at it. New experiences is what counts.

Mating season is up and running again!

The kiddies school holiday is up and running again. That means got to stay away from shopping malls, theme parks and cinemas. Its gonna be jam pack with school kids and their parents. This also NOT the best time for vacations. The rates gonna be reaching the roof! And, plus what's the point of r & r if the whole freaking beach is filled with screaming kids. Besides the annoyance of jam pack capacity, school holiday also means the mating season are on again. These are the times for foreigners to experience local weddings, and for us locals to get excuses to eat more of those delicious 'nasi minyak'. For the down side of this 'faux-fabulous' season, this is when you discovered most main roads in your housing area are blocked by a huge freaking tent, and if your neighbor is getting hitch, even worst, the area near your house suddenly will be flooded with cars. Leaving you cursing to yourself in the car alone trying to get home.

Note to self: Avoid doing wedding at your own house, and during school holidays. That's what weekends and public holidays are for.

In a lighter and happier note, me and my sister had a road trip to Ipoh last weekend to attend my sister friend's wedding. It is our first time in the lovely state. But the thing that cramming our style is the massive traffic jams at the highway. The jams were not caused by road accidents or in-coming traffic, it was simply caused by idioitics that wanted to change lanes to over take the slow heavy vehicles. What a drama. That annoying antics, caused our road trip close to 3 hours before safely reaching the destination (thanks GPS!). Due to that, I've lost my mind while on the way and back, and my sister cramped her right leg.

Note to self: Next time when decided to go for a road trip for more than 3 hours drive, don't do it during school holidays and make stops to rest. Even better, just fly by plane to the destination.

Along the way, we have the lovely scenary to calm us down -God's creation is so majestic. Here's a video:

Oh, along the way, we spotted some unusual phenomena at the highway; we saw hitchhikers!
Seriously! I was like; "What the hell are these 4 Chinese/Japanese ladies doing at the side of the highway!?OMG! There are hitching for a ride!" Yes, the lovely tourist - all ladies, with their massive backpacks were doing that hand sign to hitch a ride. Well, we thought since it is unusual, I thought people didn't bother to give any ride to them, but I guess someone did. Cause after passing them for half an hour, we were stuck a light jam caused by these 4 girls, now that the highway turned into 2 lanes, people on the road got a better view of them hitchhiking. Plus, now that I thought of it, isn't it illegal to hitchhike in Malaysia? Or is there no such rules?

While on the way, I had to pee so bad, so my sister dropped me by at Shell station. It was decent, but one person troubled me most. This old lady, old enough to be my grandmother, she was lining up for to the toilet, if I was the people lining up, I would let her go ahead first. Plus, she doesn't have anyone to assist her. Where the hell is her cucu or daughter? Aish, sungguh kesian.

Note to self: Never leave your old man or women behind, always take good care of her! Or you'll be sorry!

After more than 2 hours of driving, we know that we arrived in Ipoh when we saw this huge sign up the hill:

Thought we trust the map attached to the wedding invitation because it seemed simple enough, but, oh, how wrong we were. That map turned into a tiny adventure. Let just say we got lost driving around the Ipoh. So, after a few minutes of play ride, we decided to follow the GPS after all. Though, we drove into people's kampung, safe to say, we arrived at our destination. Thanks British-talking GPS!

Note to Self: Try to avoid marrying some dude from up north or other states in the Peninsular besides Selangor, if not, every festive season, you'll have to endure this once again. Choose a partner that you can FLY to his hometown. Save time and energy.

After devouring the yummy food at the wedding, we took a ride around town - with the help from the GPS, of course! We thought of searching for the authentic coffee experience at ANY local kopitiam. Sadly, by the looks of it, the place was not what you would grade 'A' for cleaniness.
So, after 2 failures of scouring the area. We ditched the idea, and decided to settle for Old Town kopitiam near the Ipoh padang. Assumably, it was the first Old Town branch. It settled in a old building and with peranakan deco. Lovely.

Ipoh kinda took us by surprised. The town is clean, and the architecture was in between of Colonial and peranakan. Totally, swooning over it.

All in all, the trip was fine. I make it home alive to write it in this blog.

Note to self: A short adventure to an unknown place will do u good.

Totally swooning over...Peter Davis

Last week, me and my usual partners in crime held our usual continuously gossip session at Starbucks, The Gardens. Like all flamboyant homo guys I know and learned to love, my beloved bestie - Azlan, scanned the room faster than any straight person I know. He spotted this incredibly cute young guy sat at the nearby coffee counter. According to him, that guy is a model, as my eyes gander over the lovely dude, my mind immediately run with it. He looked incredibly familliar. So, I began to assumed that he is a commercial model, just that we all can't put a finger on which ad. With coffee arrived at the counter, and the 2 'gentle' men sat nicely outside, I had to leave that dude behind, literally, as we took a seat outside the cafe'. But, in a pyscho world, he was still running in circle in my head. Damn that boy!

As we were minding our business - gossip is our top priority. The cute dude ventured outside to meet another dude of his. Safe to say, we all cried in delight. Immediately, turned into a stalker mode. Sadly, I can't take a good look of him, but the glances I had was quite enough to make me smitten over him to this day. Unfortunately, he left earlier than us. It's good, because we began to drool already.

It has been days, and almost a week, since that incident, today, out of sheer joy and surprise, I was reminded of his good looks again. I was about to catch a movie with my family, as I waited for my brother to buy the tickets, I saw a familiar face on the preview screen. It was him. I will regret this later, but I have to say my heart skipped a beat. I know, how cheessy (hmm...cheese). I pulled out my phone, immediately text my hunny bunch about my new discovery. I finally have a name put with that cute face. He's name is Peter Davis. And, he's a lead to this newly release local movie called - "Sell Out?". Plus, he sings in that too.

But, I have to say this one fact, tough, that cameras doesn't do justice to him. He looks 10 times better in person. Just take my word for it.
